Some of our favorite parts of the Smooth 9.0 Elliptical:

• This machine is run on green power – no electricity is necessary. Even the LCD console and included tablet/phone charger is powered by human energy.
• Adjustable stride length makes it an accommodating machine for multiple family members.
• Handlebar controls adjust your resistance levels without requiring a pause in the workout. Keep momentum up while continuously challenging yourself.
• A diverse program variety is available, including 33 workout programs and 24 intensity levels. These do not include the MySmooth programs you can choose to add on.
• The 9.0 has a 400lb weight capacity so it can easily handle larger users.
• The warranty is one of the best available in the industry – lifetime for frame, eight years for all parts & electronics and two years for in-home labor.
• Built-in fan, water bottle and a quality audio system makes workouts comfortable.

Our Least Favorite Features

 A few downsides to the 9.0 Elliptical:

• The 9.0 is very heavy and bulky. This machine cannot be used and then pushed to the side or stored in a closet like many of today’s sleeker and more lightweight machines.
• It doesn’t come cheap – the lowest price online is almost $1800
• Slightly nicer machines, like the Yowza Captiva, are available for the same price.

The Bottom Line

The CE 9.0 is as close to a professional elliptical machine as you can get at home. With a quiet and smooth rear drive, this machine will provide you with effective, comfortable workouts that won’t disrupt the rest of the family. The adjustable stride length and generous weight capacity makes it an ideal product for all family members, although its large size is not a winner when it comes to space efficiency. Fans of Smooth Fitness’ products will really get into the 9.0’s programs and features, making for a satisfactory purchase. Others may think twice about making this their first elliptical purchase.
