QUICK REVIEW

Pros The console comes with advanced features. The power adjustable stride offers both makes it easy to target multiple muscle groups and the cushioned pedals are larger than many other trainers making it easier to maintain your pace on even the highest of inclines.
Cons
Summary This trainer has advanced smart technology offerings and fully customizable options making this trainer very versatile. The 14.0 CE lacks in the amount of work out programs and digital resistance levels to choose from, but the programs available are great for training and setting personal goals.

Detailed Overview

The ProForm 14.0 CE elliptical trainer is a mid-range priced machine in the rear drive series by ProForm. This trainer matches smart technology with comfort and durability, and all at a very nice price point. The 5 inch backlit screen comes equipped with 14 work out programs, fewer than other trainers in the series but still more than other brands, as well as 14 digital resistance levels. The power adjustable stride from 10 to 25 degrees, 18 inch stride length, and Silent Magnetic Resistance technology make for a very smooth stride and natural feeling workout experience. The oversized pedals are large at 76” long x 27” wide x 78” tall, and cushioned for comfort and traction. The console includes the basics tracking information such as speed, calories burned, distance, time and pulse and is also iPod and iFit compatible.

Our Favorite Features

  • ipod and iFit compatible, but wireless module and iFit membership are sold separately
  • 10 to 25 degree power adjustable stride automatically modifies the shape of your stride based on the incline level
  • 18 inch stride length allows for a longer and adjustable stride
  • Oversized cushioned pedals great for comfort, stability and traction control

  • Lifetime warranty on the frame

Our Least Favorite Features

  • Incline controls are only on the console; there are no in-handle controls
  • Footpedals are not adjustable
  • No heart rate monitor included
  • Flywheel weight is not stated
  • Fewer work out programs (with only 14 options) than other trainers at lower price points
  • Fewer digital (with only 14 options) resistance levels than other trainers at lower price points
  • Larger footpedals and higher weight capacity make this trainer heavier and harder to fold up for some people
  • Only a one-year warranty on parts and labor

The Bottom Line

The ProForm 14.0 CE does not lack too many comfort or safety features and comes with advanced technology other trainers at this price point lack. What makes this trainer a great buy is the number of customizable options. With so many customizable comfort features, the user can create a very smooth and natural work out experience while also setting and monitoring personal work out goals. If you are looking for a mid-range priced trainer that is durable, easy to store and quiet, the ProForm 14.0 CE would be a great fit.
