Precor AMT 833 Elliptical Rating
Detailed Overview
Offered for $8,295, the AMT 833 trainer is mid-range trainer as part of the 830 line in the Experience™ Series by Precor. These trainers are designed to be affordable and customizable, and like the 835 AMT model, features an adjustable stride from 0 to 36 inches and 20 digital resistance levels to choose from. And while this model lacks the Open Stide™ feature (this model has a fixed stride height of 7.8 inches), it does include Stride Dial™, to easily monitor and focus on target muscle groups to achieve various results.
When it comes to the console, the 833 is designed with Precor’s new P30 console model that features a large LED display (exact dimensions are not published), 21 electronic workout readouts, 6 built-in workout programs, Motion Controls (for easy one step changes), as well as a numeric keypad. This model is also CSAFE enabled. The console area features the basics like a racking rack and mobile device charger but lacks a built-in cooling fan. Media supported includes both analog and digital.
The max weight capacity for this model is 350 pounds, and the warranty offered covers this machine for 7 years on the frame, 2 years on parts and 1 year on labor.

The Bottom Line
If you don’t mind compromising the Open Stride™ feature (adjustable height of the stride), then you can go with this 833 model and save yourself about $1,000. However; this is a really unique feature that might be worth the extra money to have a 3-in-1 trainer like the AMT 835 model with Open Stride™. There are few differences between this model and the 835 with Open Stride™, so our verdict is that this is a great buy but that extra adjustable feature is worth it if you can afford the extra cost.
