Detailed Overview

At $2,499, the FS10i is the mid-range elliptical in NordicTrack‘s FreeStride Series, offering a stellar range of features for the price. Its 10″ HD touchscreen allows you to enjoy iFit workouts directly from your machine (with a free membership for a year). Like the rest of the 2020 FreeStride lineup, the FS10i features a 32” adjustable stride which allows for different types of workout styles as well as accommodating for a wide range of user heights. It also features a 20-pound flywheels for resistance and 24 resistance levels much like the FS7i (Update 5/1/2021: the FS7i was recently discontinued).

A sticker price just under $3K may seem a bit steep at first, but you have to keep in mind that it is a multi-functional machine. It acts as a stepper and elliptical in one allowing you to diversify your training but still keep it low impact. Alongside the moving handlebars, it’s a full-body workout. Other highlights which make it worth the price include a free 1-year membership to iFit so you can enjoy world-class personal training from your living room. The FS10i also includes Bluetooth-enabled audio and speakers, a bottle holder, and a cooling fan. As for consumer protections, the FS10i also includes a 10-year frame warranty as well as 2 years of coverage for parts and 1 year for labor. Our Least Favorite Features

  • Although a 20-pound flywheel is OK, it is fairly light for this price point
  • It is quite an expensive machine even considering all of its features, although it is multi-functional

The Bottom Line

The FS10i is a solid elliptical machine choice in its price range. It will suit any intermediate trainee looking for a low-impact machine that can keep them entertained with interactive training. It boasts a good range of tech and features for the price, especially when compared to the other machines in the series. Its adjustable stride and 24 resistance levels allow you to try a variety of workout styles so you can mix up your training as you progress. The top-spec FS14i adds power decline into the mix as well as a bigger screen (and a couple more resistance levels), but as you will see in our review of the machine, we aren’t 100% convinced that these features justify the $1K price leap from the FS10i.
